AKE is relaunching the Working in Hostile Regions course in November and will be a scheduled quarterly in 2017.
About the Course – AKE International’s Working in Hostile Regions course is designed to assist individuals, teams and organisations to prepare for and manage risk whilst living and working in, complex and sometimes hostile environments. The programme is delivered through a mixture of lectures, discussion groups, workshops and practical simulations and exercises to suit varied learning styles. It is progressive and interactive in nature, culminating in a series of challenging and realistic scenario exercises.
Target Markets – The course is aimed at the following sectors:
Oil & Gas
Entry Criteria – No prior qualifications required (basic medical training would be an advantage).
Content – The course is divided equally between Security and Medical, with particular focus on preparation & planning, threat identification & risk mitigation strategies, self-sufficiency & situational awareness and trauma management.
On completion of the course delegates will be able to:
Effectively plan and prepare for working in potentially hostile and remote environments
Identify significant threats to personal safety
Develop personal security and awareness techniques to mitigate the risk
Provide lifesaving and immediate medical care in hostile and challenging
Operate effectively for extended periods of time in challenging and remote
Venue – Training is delivered from a purpose built training facility, Penyard House, located in the Herefordshire countryside, with exclusive access to 300 acres of nearby rolling countryside and woodland allow for realistic scenario training. In addition AKE delivers training from a number of training centres globally, with regular courses being held in the US, Canada, Australia and Thailand.
Instructor Expertise – AKE International’s training team have a breadth of knowledge and considerable operational experience in high-risk and complex environments worldwide. As well as teaching, our instructors are operationally current and deploy regularly on a variety tasks, combining up to date experience and specialist knowledge to enhance the delivery of our training courses.
Duration – 3 Days
