Close Protection
AKE’s unrivalled experience and leadership
in the field have formed the basis for a course that equips
students with the necessary skills to become a Close Protection
Officer in this dynamic and challenging industry.
The course is structured around the Security
Industry Association (SIA) licensing program, the course offers
BTEC Level 3A Edexel accreditation.
The course is designed and taught by experienced
former Special Air Service personnel, taking into account
current protocols, teachings and past experiences with lessons
learnt. The course involves real life case studies.
Students will be comprehensively qualified
for work in the evolving arena of close protection, ensuring
they reach the high standards required for success within
this competitive sphere.
The course is open to both male and female
students who are self motivated with a ‘can do’
approach. The course is rewarding, both personally and financially,

Full 150 hour SIA Close Protection Course
The course will be run over 15 consecutive
days at AKE’s training centre headquarters in Hereford.
Since inception in 1992 AKE continues to set the highest professional
standards and lead the way for training in the United Kingdom.
The course is open to individual and group
applicants from all areas - with either civilian or military
backgrounds.
Applicants should have at least a First
Aid at Work qualification prior to starting the Close Protection
course. AKE offers First Aid at Work as an option in our Close
