The cover pays for the costs of evacuation and accommodation for all your employees if AKE or the officials of the country, in which your company's head office is located, determine the region in which you operate becomes suddenly politically unstable, suffers from an epidemic or natural disaster.
Does the Personal Accident or Sickness cover apply when an employee is kidnapped?
Yes - regardless of whether or not kidnap cover has been purchased.
What are the key elements of the Special risks Kidnap for Ransom cover?
The cover pays the costs of any ransom, response consultants' fees and other costs incurred by you that may be payable following the taking of one or more of your employees against their will.
What type of cover is included for War and Terrorism?
Cover is provided for war and terrorism except war declared by China, France, the UK, Russia and the US; war within Europe is excluded.
What are the more notable exclusions in the insured programme?
Personal Accident and Medical Expenses and Evacuation • Suicide • Extreme sports and hazardous leisure pursuits unless agreed by underwriters • Driving/riding on motor cycles unless agreed by underwriters • Medical expenses incurred in the insured person's home country
Non Medical Evacuation • Violation of the laws or regulations of the country in which the Insured Event takes place • The failure to procure or maintain immigration, work, residence or similar visas, permits or other documentation
Death by Natural Causes • Employees absent for more than 10 days in the preceding 3 months of employment • Employees over 65 years of age
Sickness is covered but excludes illnesses with pre-existing conditions.
Cover does not apply in the insured's home country unless specifically agreed.
