We are a consultancy specialising in security risk and political analysis for organisations operating in complex and volatile environments.
A significant part of our client base comes from the insurance sector, where our insights support underwriting, risk assessment and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and approach potential clients, particularly within the insurance industry
- Present and sell the company’s country risk platform, as well as analytical reports and tailored research products
- Support the full sales cycle: lead generation, outreach, follow-ups, and closing deals
- Maintain and update CRM records and sales pipelines

Essential:

- Previous experience in sales
Desirable:

Operations Manager
1 Year Contract
Based in our Hereford office Monday to Friday AKE are recruiting for a one year contract for an Operations Manager to provide every-day support to the Operations and Intelligence team who are located around the world and deliver threat briefings and crisis response when required to AKE clients. The purpose of this role is to manage and support client locations and status as well as AKE’s response in an emergency or evolving crisis.

Duties
Administration and Operational Support
- Monitor client locations and situation reports and invoke escalation processes when required
- Reduce the administrative burden on crisis response consultants when they are deployed
- Ensure invoicing and quotations are sent in a timely manner assisting the Financial Controller as needed
- Co-ordinating diaries and arranging meetings
- Keep current a daily log file
- Conduct weekend and out of hours duties as needed
- Ensuring the Duty Officer and staff Rotas are correctly inputted and manage changes as required
- Assisting the COO with client or internal meetings/events
- Maintaining an asset register of all Response IT and communication equipment, arranging replacement equipment when required
- Liaising with IT and Comms vendors to assist in the resolution of IT issues
- Conduct onboarding of tracking system with new clients
- Fielding consultant enquiries and providing support to them as appropriate
- Administering Response office requirements including communications, photocopying, shredding and arranging couriers where necessary
- Maintaining client and employee contact details and ensuring CRM is updated
- Providing support to training courses including administration, course support and course certification & accreditation
Providing cover for the Operations Director when absent, to include:
- Organising and booking consultant travel and management of the travel process including arranging accommodation, passports and visas
- Monitoring and arranging visa renewals for consultants and clients
- Maintaining sub-contractor availability chart and contact list,
- Updating and simplifying SOPs for response
- Maintaining how to guides for Crisis Response equipment, e.g. tracking devices and satellite phones
Commercial Support
Providing cover for the Sales team, to include:
- Creation of client opportunities and leads within the CRM
- Commercial awareness of activities required to grow AKE’s profile and revenue streams
Qualifications
Ability to prioritise work effectively and multi-task
- Educated to A Level Standard, or relevant experience
- Familiar with Microsoft Office packages, including intermediate/ advanced Word and Excel skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and numeracy
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision or as a team

AKE Remote Internship Scheme
Mapping
AKE International is currently recruiting for a remote, voluntary internship focused on mapping. The intern will work with a supportive team of experienced professionals across data capture, data management, analysis and digital delivery. Under guidance, they will contribute to producing maps and plans for AKE’s risk management outputs and client deliverables, supporting a wide range of fast‑paced projects.
Duties and responsibilities may include
- Support the production of maps and geospatial outputs for AKE’s deliverables and client reports.
- Contribute to map‑based analysis by supporting analysts with location‑specific insights and spatial context for security and political developments.
- Assist the preparation of map layers, geographic layers and geospatial components.
